Curriculum and planning

I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum for children aged 0-5 years of age. This is play based and includes Personal Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Communication and Language, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design and the Characteristics of an Effective Learner.

My Curriculum is child led through play and hands on experience, meeting the child where they are and meeting their individual needs. Play is not separate from learning, play is the work of learning.

The children learn through a curriculum rich in language development and early numeracy skills , interest led play and planned activities. I encourage the children to communicate their ideas, opinions and feelings. I help children become aware of their own physical and emotional needs and learn independence. I encourage children to explore and have a love of nature. We spend time developing a love of rhymes, songs and reading for pleasure. I help children develop an interest in number, shape and measure within their everyday activities. The children are encouraged to develop their imaginative play.

I regularly observe the children and plan the next steps they individually need to continue their learning journey.

I constantly evaluate my practice in order to provide an outstanding provision.

Policies

I have statutory policies which explain to parents my practice. These are available for parents to access through the following links. Please click to download them.
